Punjab is set to take its electric public transport network to the tehsil level from January 2027 after approval from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. ๐โก

THE POINT
The provincial government aims to have 3,000 electric buses operating across Punjab by June 2027, with major allocations planned for Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Gujrat and Rawalpindi.
Currently, 612 electric buses are operational across different districts, serving hundreds of thousands of passengers every day. Another 192 buses are expected to become operational soon.
Meanwhile, the restoration of 125 Lahore Metro Bus stations is also nearing completion. ๐
